Supreme Commander

(Out of 5 Nukes)
Okay, Supreme Commander has to be one of the top Real Time Stratagy (RTS) games that I have EVER played! This RTS picks up like most RTS games in the fact that you start off with nothing and then have to build your militia. This one has the unique aspect of the Armored Command Unit (ACU) being the designer of all things. Your ACU is 'beamed' to a planet where you must start completely from scratch and build up. The game is set up in the 'Infinite War' that has been waged for centuries between the games factions.
There are three factions that play a role in this game: United Earth Federation (UEF), Aeon Illuminate, and Cybran Nation, each of which has it's own strengths and weaknesses as well as unique units and structures. The UEF is, of course Earth. UEF is hell bent of getting all of the 'insurgent' groups back under the UEF flag, whether they want to or not. The Cybrans are a group of humans that have bonded with machine to become cybernetic beings, to extensive levels in some cases. And the Aeons are a group of religiouse fanatics that worship an 'extinct' species called the Seraphim.
They don't bother with specifics of what kind of resources you need; you need Mass and Energy, nice and simple. Energy can be produced from a power plant that can be deployed anywhere. Mass is limited to a block on the map that mass is on, or you can make a Mass Fabricator that sucks down a large amount of energy instead.
Once you have your resources gathered, the next step is to start building the militia itself. As is the norm, you must create a Land, Sea, & Air Factory, each producing units that relate to it's specialty. What goes beyond the norm is that you can use your ACU and/or Engineers to accelorate development. Another massive bonus is the fact that you must construct an existing factory into a higher tech factory. The higher tech factory that you have, the better the mititary units that it produces.
Battle and tactics are brought to a whole new level in this game. you are able to seemlessly zoom from a first person view of a few units all the way out to a planatary view of the whole battlefield and back again. You units can be set up on patrol routes, waypoints, offensive, and defensive. Take this into consideration with true artilery and nuke structures that can combat the entire game screan and ytou have a battle of epic proportion!
I will warn that the learning curve for this baby is drastic even to long time RTS players, but it's worth the effort! If you're looking to give an RTS a try or love love them to begin with, I would definately resomend this game!
